The court culture of Delhi is still reflected in the Delhi art and culture. For several years during the reign of the different rulers, kings and emperors have patronized music. As such, artists from distance places used to visit the kings to seek patronage. Although the concept of kings patronizing Delhi art is no more these days, the essence is still alive.

Most of the musicians, dancers, artists, and theatre personalities have made Delhi their homes. The capital city of India is full of cinema halls, cultural centers, auditoriam, and museums.

If you are interested in catching a glimpse of Delhiart, the best time to visit Delhi is when the cultural season is just starting to catch up. The ideal time is between the months August and April. The common Delhi art festivals like Dhrupad, Tansen,and Shankarlal Festivals are much awaited events by Delhites. These festivals take place in the month of February through March. The other festival which is liked by all is the Vishnu Digamber Festival that is held in the month of August.

The most exciting of all music festivals in the capital city is the Qutub Festival which is held in the month of October. In this festival, musicians, artists, singers, and dancers from all over the country perform at the site of the Qutub Minar. This historical monument is usually kept at the backdrop of the programs.
